We interviewed Mr. Hirano and Mr. Kojima from Ono Sokki Co., Ltd., which manufactures measuring instruments involved in automobile development and research, about the reasons for and effects of installing RICOH's SC-10A Work Assistance Camera System.
We installed the RICOH SC-10A to eliminate human error, with the desire to eliminate dependence on workers.
O-Solution DS-5000
SC-10A is also used in the manufacture of our new product, O-Solution DS5000.
The features of this new product are that it is small, making it easy to connect and carry, and the LEDs on both sides of the connector make it easy to notice measurement errors.
The stack structure allows the customer to select the unit size and measurement system.
Because we assemble units of various shapes, the RICOH SC-10A Work Assistance Camera System is used to improve the quality.
We use RICOH SC-10A in the assembly process of our products.
It is mainly used to check the screw tightening and installation of parts.
By linking the SC-10A with an electric torque screwdriver, forgetting to tighten screws correctly is detected.
The torque figures of all products are specified, and the SC-10A detects the torque-up signal and leaves Check history as traceability to improve quality.

Previously, only one skilled person could manufacture the product just by using the work procedure manual. Now, with the installation of the RICOH SC-10A, it has become possible for multiple employees to perform the tasks that only one skilled employee could do.
And, for traceability, the final work data can be retained leading to quality improvements.

In fact, human error has been reduced, and when a component installation is forgotten during work, the SC-10A can detect the error and prevent the outflow of defects.

Secondly, we were able to standardize process control to maintain quality.
Since image recognition devices like the RICOH SC-10A are affected by the lighting environment, it was difficult to stabilize the judgment.
In cooperation with RICOH, we were able to build the current manufacturing process.
Since we have installed 10 or more RICOH SC-10A units, it was extremely difficult to build an environment in which production can be performed in the same way, but now that we have achieved it, we would like to continue using this system.
